HelpAnOrphan.org – $1600 Goal.
Embellish has a goal. By Christmas, we are raising $1,600 for Shan Ji Guang, an 18 month old orphan who was born with a cleft lip and palate. $1,600 will pay for his lip and palate surgeries. $1600 to give this little boy a chance to smile and a chance to speak. Every cent donated will go directly to these two surgeries for Shan Ji Guang.
Grab an ornament off our Tree of Hope and consider donating.

** FEB 1, 2010: UPDATE **
We did it!! We raised enough money for Shan Ji to have both surgeries. I am humbled by, and oh-so grateful for, the generosity of my friends and customers. Thank you! We are mailing a big old check off this week!!

xoxo,
Becca & Embellish
Redesign #2!
MARCELLA.
What a wonderful, deserving family. Check out her story on Good Morning, Arizona!

Redesign #1!
WOW! Thanks to all the Embellish customers who donated accessories! We had more than we needed for our first “redesign” family, and are able to continue our project.
We helped VIRGINIA, a single mom with seven kids, and her caseworker from UMOM New Day Centers shop for her furniture from Bridging AZ for her new apartment. We came back to the store, planned our design attack, and did a redesign of Virginia’s kitchen and living room with all the donated accessories. I have to say – it looked GREAT when we left. Virginia was thrilled, the kids were smiling, and Melissa and I felt like we accomplished our goal of helping a worthy family feel like they were home when they walked in their doors.
Our second family is coming up in late August. We can still use some window treatments, hardware & larger rugs (4×6 and up) if you’ve got some in great condition to donate.

And the Afters:

As always, a big thanks to Michele Hinz of Hinz Photographic. And to North Central News for the great article.
AZ Republic Article:
The Living & Learning Center houses motivated teens who are staying on track with school and/or jobs, and provides like skills, a home and opportunity. These girls needed a space that could inspire them and was worthy of such a great program.
